This week we sat down with the co-founder of Balance Me, Rebecca Hopkins. She shares how she started Balance Me, her role models and what she would say to her yonger self.

 

What made you start Balance Me?
A quest to find a better work/life balance! We then spotted a gap in the market for modern, results-led skincare that was honestly natural. We have been able to push the boundaries on what is possible to achieve using bio-actives over the last few years and

Who are your role models?
Fellow beauty entrepreneurs. We all inspire and learn from each other

What advice would you give your younger self?
Never give up and keep going back to your roots. That is the heartbeat of the brand

Describe your work style?
Relaxed, inclusive, creative, ideas-led. I have always been a visionary.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?
It’s been Mental Health Awareness Week and we have to keep being kind to ourselves and our body. Natural skincare is best!

What is the key to developing the next gen of leaders in your industry?
Allow them to innovate and bring their creative ideas to life. We learn as much from them as they do from us.

What’s been your biggest professional/personal achievement?
Successfully trading our brand over a number of platforms from department store, through to grocer, e-tail and our own branded site. Our mission is to be available to our customer wherever he/she is shopping 24/7

What do you do to relax and unwind after a long day of work?
Yoga, running and hanging out with my family

What was your big break?
Moving from bathing into skincare and securing a nationwide grocer partner, Waitrose
